Job summary

Memorial Healthcare System is seeking an RN Lactation Specialist to provide specialized nursing and breastfeeding support to postpartum patients and newborns in a hospital setting. You will assess feeding needs, assist with lactation techniques, educate families on pumping and milk storage, and collaborate with nurses, physicians, and pediatric providers to develop feeding plans for safe infant feeding.

IBCLC certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Accredited Nursing program (Required)
• BLS American Heart E-Card (BLS/CPR) - American Heart Association
• BLS RQI/E-Card completion required
• BLS Certification Grace / Grace Period for Essential Credential
• Red Cross BLS Certification
• Registered Nurse Multistate License (RN)
• State of Florida RN license

Responsibilities

• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care (disposition, referral, spiritual/psychosocial support)
• Educates patient and family appropriate to age, culture, condition
• Plans and evaluates patient care to optimize outcomes
• Monitors and documents patient condition and communicates effectively
• Delegates tasks to ancillary staff
• May precept students and new hires
