Job summary

Qualifications

• RN license or active enrollment in BSN pathway with agreement for BSN-equivalency
• Minimum 9 months nursing experience
• CPR - Basic Life Support (AHA) certification

Responsibilities

• Instructs mothers on lactation initiation and maintenance during infant hospitalization
• Communicates observations to the care team and updates care plans
• Documents lactation assessments and recommendations in patient records
• Acts as a resource to hospital departments on human milk handling and policies
• Evaluates maternal medications for compatibility with breastfeeding
• Participates in performance improvement activities and staff training
