Southwest Healthcare Rancho Springs Hospital in Murrieta, California provides lactation support within an acute care setting. The RN lactation specialist collaborates with obstetric and pediatric teams to deliver patient-centered lactation care and education.

Ideal candidates hold an accredited RN program, IBCLC, NRP, and BLS certifications and meet lactation experience requirements in an acute care facility within the last 36 months.

Qualifications

• One (1) year lactation experience in an acute care facility within the past 36 months is required.
• Completion of lactation education program.
• Completion of an accredited Registered Nursing program.
• Current IBCLC required.
• California RN license
• Current NRP certification
• Current BLS certification

Responsibilities

• Support breastfeeding and lactation needs for patients in an acute care setting.
• Collaborate with obstetrics, pediatrics, and nursing teams to implement care plans.
• Maintain IBCLC credentials and stay current with lactation best practices.

Southwest HealthcareRancho Springs Hospital inMurrieta, California, is a 120 bed acute-care hospital with the region's only Pediatric Emergency Services team (for children 14 and under) provided by board certified Rady Children’s emergency medicine physicians. Rancho Springs Hospital also provides the area's only OB/Emergency Department program, which gives expectant mothers 24/7 on-site access to OB/GYN physician coverage. The Childbirth Center at Rancho Springs Hospital is the largest in the region and features spacious family-friendly private suites. Rancho's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is operated by Rady Children’s.
