HCA Florida Gulf Coast Hospital is seeking a Lactation Consultant PRN to support new mothers and babies. You will provide quality breastfeeding support, teach prenatal and postpartum classes, and conduct bedside rounds to address breastfeeding needs.

The role emphasizes patient advocacy, education for staff, and participation in quality improvement. IBCLC or CLC certification is required, with 45 clock hours of breastfeeding education in the last three years; BLS within 30 days.

Qualifications

• IBCLC or CLC certification required.
• Minimum 45 clock hours of breastfeeding education in the last 3 years.
• Healthcare background preferred.
• Lactation consultancy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality breastfeeding support to mothers and babies.
• Teach prenatal and postpartum classes promoting breastfeeding benefits.
• Conduct bedside lactation rounds and consult with mothers with breastfeeding problems.
• Provide ongoing individualized counseling and staff education.
• Participate in unit Quality Improvement processes and reporting.
