Job summary

AdventHealth in Ocala, Florida is seeking a Registered Nurse Lactation Consultant for PRN afternoon/evening shifts. You will conduct rounds on maternity units, provide private breastfeeding consultations, educate clients, and collaborate with hospital teams to support new mothers and infants.

Requirements include an RN license, CLC or IBCLC certification, strong English communication, and willingness to use interpreter services. The role emphasizes safety, documentation, and community education.

Qualifications

• RN license required
• Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) or International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) required
• English communication skills required, additional languages preferred

Responsibilities

• Greet patients in a friendly, professional manner
• Conduct rounds on maternal/infant units, providing support and professional advice to the nursing dyad
• Provide private lactation consultations and staff education
• Maintain accurate and thorough records and documentation
• Plan prenatal breastfeeding classes and present information to clients and staff
• Collaborate with hospital staff and participate in in-service programs
• Follow safety and PPE guidelines and enforce health regulations
