Job summary

Cone Health in Burlington, NC seeks a Lactation Consultant to work within Women Infant services to develop evidence‑based feeding plans for newborns and beyond. You will collaborate with care teams, conduct breastfeeding assessments, and provide support to mothers and infants under supervision.

A strong emphasis is placed on education resources and leading breastfeeding classes. Requirements include an Associate degree, IBCLC certification, CPR/BLS, and at least 1 year of relevant experience

Qualifications

• IBLCE certification or eligibility preferred.
• BLS/CPR certification required.
• 1 year of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Women infant's services to develop feeding plans.
• Conduct lactation assessments and implement feeding plans.
• Provide lactation support to mothers/infants by physician or nurse referral.
• Develop and evaluate patient education resources and programs.
• Lead breastfeeding classes and support groups.
• Maintain a safe environment and respond to emergencies.
