Job summary

Cone Health is seeking a Lactation Consultant to work within Women's and Infant's services to develop feeding plans for newborns, infants, and families. You will collaborate with care teams, perform breastfeeding assessments, and provide evidence-based support to mothers and infants under supervision.

You will also contribute to education resources, lead breastfeeding classes, and support groups, aiming to improve breastfeeding outcomes and family education across age groups.

Qualifications

• 1 year of lactation consulting experience.
• IBLCE certification and CPR training required.
• Must have current lactation knowledge and clinical skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Women's and Infant's services to develop evidence-based feeding plans.
• Conduct breast feeding assessments and implement plans with staff support.
• Provide lactation support to mothers/infants by physician or nurse referral.
• Develop and evaluate patient education resources and programs.
• Lead breastfeeding classes and support groups.
