The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking a Lactation Consultant to collaborate with the patient care team and community to provide breastfeeding education. The role directs planning, evaluation, and coordination of education for the Women and Infant Nursing Department at the University Hospitals campus.

Requirements include an Ohio nursing license, RN background, and IBCLC certification; BSN is preferred.

• BSN degree (or related field) desired.
• Current Ohio nursing license.
• Lactation Consultant certification (IBCLC) preferred.
• Previous nursing experience in relevant care setting preferred.
• Prior patient education and women and infant nursing desired.

Job Description
Collaborates with the patient care team, other health care professionals and the community to provide patients with breast feeding knowledge and skill. Responsible for the overall planning, direction, and evaluation of breast feeding education for the Department of Women and Infant Nursing and the Medical Center; responsible for assessing, planning, managing, coordinating, directing, and evaluating breast feeding education provided to patients and his/her family by the patient care team in the Department of Women and Infant Nursing; prioritizes breast feeding education needs of patients and collaborates with the patient care team and other health care providers. Ongoing community education and agency collaboration is essential. Lactation Consultant certification is required(IBCLC). Position located at University Hospitals.

Required Qualifications
