Job summary

Qualifications

• Diploma, associate degree, or bachelor of science in nursing.
• Current Ohio RN license.
• BSN required at 5 years of employment; must obtain CLC or IBCLC within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Educate, demonstrate and assist with correction of breastfeeding problems beyond normal nursing care.
• Maintain equipment, supplies and materials for patient care. Coordinate breast pumps and retail accessories rental and sales.
• Provide prenatal and post-discharge classes and support for breastfeeding mothers.
• Collaborate on writing policies, procedures and educational materials for the Lactation Program and maintain continuity of care.
• Engage in continuing education, attend workshops and read current obstetric/pediatrics/lactation literature.
• May participate in CEU planning and staff in-services for breastfeeding information.
