Job summary

North Lincoln High School in Lincolnton, NC is seeking a Lacrosse Varsity Assistant Coach for the Men's team for Spring 2027. The role reports to the Principal and Athletic Director and involves assisting in planning, implementing and managing the lacrosse program, and fostering sportsmanship and student development.

Requirements include being at least 21, a HS diploma, coaching experience, NFHS coaching courses, CPR if paid, and completing HR onboarding and background checks.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old, HS Diploma or GED, coaching experience preferred.
• All coaches (volunteer or paid) must complete NFHS.com coaching courses before approval to work with student athletes.
• CPR certification for paid coaches is required and may be completed through the school system if needed. HR onboarding policies, screening (drug test and background check) and health physical and TB test required before approval.

Responsibilities

• Assists in providing leadership and support in planning, developing and implementing an instructional program in the sport as assigned by the coach.
• Assists in administering the sport program.
• Assists in fostering a climate conducive to learning as assigned by the coach.
• Assists in establishing and implementing an improvement process for the sport as assigned by the coach.
• Assists in establishing good public and employee relations for the sport as assigned by the Coach.
• Maintains professional work habits.
• Maintains and upgrades professional skills to improve instruction for students.
• Communicates with parents and the educational community.
• Implements fundamental sports skills and sport management systems.
• Cooperates with school principal and head coach; develops rapport with coaching staff and the school; organizes coaching staff; fosters relationships with participants, student body, faculty, parents, media, opponents and employees; maintains conduct; participates in growth opportunities.
