Job summary

Notre Dame High School in San Jose invites applications for a Seasonal Coaching position within its athletics program. The role mentors student-athletes, develops sport fundamentals, and ensures safe use of equipment while supporting the school's mission and competitive teams.

Evening and weekend availability, travel across the Bay Area, and attendance at league meetings are required. A two-year degree or higher and prior coaching experience are preferred to help foster leadership and character

Qualifications

• Two years of college study (AA or Bachelor's preferred).
• Coaching experience at high school or beyond preferred.
• Playing experience through high school (college preferred).
• Extensive knowledge of sport and physical ability to perform tasks.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and train student-athletes in all aspects of sport
• Develop and implement basic principles surrounding the fundamentals of sport
• Train and monitor student use of equipment
• Inventory and properly maintain all equipment
• Oversee transportation of student-athletes to and from competition with the use of school provided vans or parent carpool
• Be able to work evening, weekends, and travel across the greater Bay Area
• Maintain detailed and accurate files
• Effectively and positively communicate to athletes, parents, administration, and school community
• Attend all mandatory athletic department and league meetings including season ending Awards Night

The Notre Dame Athletic Program

Notre Dame High School Athletics provides our student athletes with an opportunity to develop as individuals and members of the community. We offer 13 competitive interscholastic sports over three seasons and compete in the WBAL, WCAL, and PAL leagues.
