Job summary

Notre Dame High School in San Jose is seeking a seasonal athletic coach to mentor and train student-athletes across sports. You will develop fundamentals and oversee equipment, ensuring safety and readiness for competitions.

Travel across the greater Bay Area, attend meetings, communicate with parents and staff, and support the athletic program during evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Two years of college study (AA or Bachelor's preferred).
• Previous coaching experience (preferably high school or beyond).
• Playing experience through high school (college preferred).
• Extensive knowledge of sport.
• Physical ability to perform tasks associated with sport.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and train student‑athletes in all aspects of sport
• Develop and implement basic principles surrounding the fundamentals of sport
• Train and monitor student use of equipment
• Inventory and properly maintain all equipment
• Oversee transportation of student‑athletes to and from competition with the use of school provided vans or parent carpool
• Be able to work evening, weekends, and travel across the greater Bay Area
• Maintain detailed and accurate files
• Effectively and positively communicate to athletes, parents, administration, and school community
• Attend all mandatory athletic department and league meetings including season ending Awards Night

The Notre Dame Athletic Program

Notre Dame High School Athletics provides our student athletes with an opportunity to develop as individuals and members of the community. We offer 13 competitive interscholastic sports over three seasons and compete in the WBAL, WCAL, and PAL leagues.
