Job summary

Notre Dame High School, San Jose, is seeking a seasonal athletic coach to support the varsity program. The role includes assisting the head coach at practices and games, mentoring student-athletes, and handling equipment and transportation duties within the Bay Area.

Candidates should have two years of college study and prior coaching experience, along with strong sport knowledge and physical fitness to execute duties safely and effectively.

Qualifications

• Coaching experience is required (preferably high school or beyond).
• Extensive knowledge of sport is required.
• Physical ability to perform tasks associated with sport is required.

Responsibilities

• Support and assist head coach at practice, matches, and with administrative duties
• Mentor and train student-athletes in all aspects of sport
• Develop and implement basic principles surrounding the fundamentals of sport
• Train and monitor student use of equipment
• Inventory and properly maintain all equipment
• Oversee transportation of student-athletes to and from competition with the use of school provided vans or parent carpool
• Be able to work evening, weekends, and travel across the greater Bay Area
• Maintain detailed and accurate files
• Effectively & positively communicate to athletes, parents, administration, and school community
• Attend all mandatory athletic department and league meetings including season ending Awards Night

The Notre Dame Athletic Program

Notre Dame High School Athletics provides our student athletes with an opportunity to develop as individuals and members of the community. We offer 13 competitive interscholastic sports over three seasons and compete in the WBAL, WCAL, and PAL leagues
