Job summary

St. Catherine’s School in Richmond, Virginia, seeks lacrosse coaches for JV and Middle School levels to join a long-established program supported by varsity staff. Head and assistant positions are available; typical practice times are 3:45 pm to 5:30 pm on weekdays, with the season running from late February through early May.

The role is salaried, exempt, and seasonal. Supervisory: Director of Athletics and Strategic Partnerships.

Qualifications

• Lacrosse playing and/or coaching experience required.
• Strong communication skills expected.
• Demonstrate strong leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and lead effective lacrosse practices, training sessions, and competitions that support the development of student-athletes
• Teach and reinforce fundamental lacrosse skills, game strategies, teamwork, sportsmanship, and a strong understanding of the game
• Supervise student-athletes during practices, games, team activities, and travel in accordance with School policies and safety expectations
• Create a positive, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate team environment that reflects the School’s mission and values
• Prepare and manage practice plans, game strategies, lineups, and other team-related activities.
• Set a tone of professionalism among coaches, athletes, and parents
