Job summary

St. Catherine’s School in Richmond, VA seeks a Varsity Dive Assistant Coach for the winter season, working with athletes in grades 7–12. The program uses the on-campus aquatic facility and practices run after school.

This role is salaried and exempt, with practices typically 5:00–6:45 pm, and the season from mid-November through mid-February. Candidates should have diving experience or coaching background and a commitment to safety and positive coaching.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Competitive diving or coaching experience required.
• Strong knowledge of diving techniques and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Dive Coach in planning and conducting practices, training sessions, and competitions.
• Teach and reinforce proper diving techniques, fundamentals, body positioning, approaches, takeoffs, dives, and entries.
• Provide individualized instruction, feedback, and encouragement to help student-athletes develop their skills and confidence.
• Support the development of student-athletes’ physical conditioning, mental preparation, focus, and overall athletic development.
• Supervise student-athletes during practices, meets, team activities, and travel in accordance with School policies and safety expectations.
• Maintain a safe and positive training environment and consistently reinforce appropriate diving safety practices and procedures.
• Attend scheduled practices, competitions, team meetings, and other required athletic activities.
