POSITION: Security Guard / Full Time

DEPARTMENT: Security

REPORTS TO: Vice President of Security

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

Base Salary Range: $21.00 Hourly

Role Summary

The Security Guard will work at Los Angeles Convention Center (LACC) in downtown Los Angeles, ensuring the safety and security of visitors, guests, and team members during both routine operations and special events.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Respond to all security needs and calls for services, coordinating with security, operations staff, and local law enforcement as necessary.
• Provide customer service to guests and team members while monitoring crowd flow and point-of-sale transactions in parking garages or around the facility.
• Work closely with operations staff to meet visitor and programming needs while maintaining safety measures.
• Assist in managing crowds in changing event environments across all LACC areas.
• Conduct regular inspections of LACC zones, rotating posts as assigned.
• Write incident reports, including victims and witnesses interviews, and report malfunctions, misconduct, or safety issues.
• Assist with the development and implementation of public safety plans for day‑to‑day operations and special events.
• Follow and adhere to venue policies, procedures, and security protocols for loading dock and perimeters.
• Ensure property security, preventing damage from visitor negligence or vandalism.
• Provide leadership and input for Guest Services at other Legends Global venues, directing Guest Services Representatives as needed.
• Guide outside security personnel contracted for LACC events.
• Perform any other duties assigned by management.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid CA/BSIS Guard Card.
• Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES

Stand, walk, use hands to handle, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, and hear regularly. Occasionally sit. Frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds, occasionally up to 100 pounds. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work may involve exposure to outside weather conditions, fumes, airborne particles, and moderate noise. Personal Protective Equipment may be required. Compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies, is mandatory.

SCHEDULE & SHIFT REQUIREMENTS

The position is on-site 24/7 and may require early mornings, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays to meet business and event needs.
