Job summary

Los Angeles Convention Center is seeking a part-time Operations Utility Worker to support daily venue maintenance and event operations. The role requires performing basic repairs, cleaning, and setup tasks during events and in downtime.

You will assist with surface prep, minor repairs, light fixtures, furniture movement, restocking, and compliance with safety rules. This on-site position requires teamwork across departments and flexibility to cover events.

Responsibilities

• Surface preparation for paint and minor repairs such as restroom partitions, toilet paper dispensers, ceiling tiles, water closets, and door hardware.
• Replace electrical cover plates, aerators, repair baseboards, reset pavers, and change light bulbs.
• Move equipment and furniture, hang pictures/frames/mirrors, and secure items as needed.
• Restock supplies, perform trash removal, spill cleanup, and maintain back-of-house areas, garages, and workstations.

The center is committed to delivering excellent service and exceeding expectations for clients and guests at every event.**SUMMARY**The Operations Utility Worker is responsible to make general basic repairs and meet the minor maintenance needs of the Los Angeles Convention Center (LACC), that is not the traditional work of the Journeyman Building & Construction Trades workers listed above.**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**The duties of the Operations Utility Worker include surface preparation for paint, general basic repairs such as restroom partitions, toilet paper dispensers, ceiling tiles, water closets, replacing electrical cover plates, aerators, repair baseboards, reset pavers, changing light bulbs fixing door handles, hanging pictures, frames, mirrors, security hangers, moving equipment and furniture, fixing small appliances, replacing filters and batteries, restocking, trash removal, spill clean-up and maintaining back of house areas, garages and workstations and work areas.**QUALIFICATIONS****EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE****SKILLS AND ABILITIES****OTHER QUALIFICATIONS****PHYSICAL DEMANDS**The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a Team Member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
