Job summary

The Plumber at the Los Angeles Convention Center performs day-to-day plumbing tasks as part of the Operations team. This on-site, non-exempt role requires journeyman level work and ownership of personal hand tools to complete assigned duties across multiple fixtures and systems.

The position reports to the Assistant Superintendent within a unionized environment, with base hourly pay detailed as a union rate. Work involves exposure to events, and flexibility to cover shifts as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Perform journeyman plumbing work for the Los Angeles Convention Center.
  • Inspect and service fixtures, grease traps, hydronic and drainage systems.
  • Maintain cleanliness and readiness of tools and equipment.
  • Assist with system checks including fire sprinkler components.
  • Coordinate with other trades and support events as needed.

Base Salary Range: $41.63 Hourly Union

SUMMARY

The Plumber carries out the day-to-day plumbing needs of the Los Angeles Convention Center (LACC).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Required to perform journeyman level work. Provides own hand tools required to perform assigned work, including but not limited to, screw drivers, measuring tape, pliers, adjustable wrenches and flashlight. Provide routine daily checks and activities. Responsibilities included, but not limited to, all

restroom fixtures, kitchen fixtures, dishwashers, grease traps, hood wash down system, drinking fountains, hot water heaters, building sewer system, dewatering system, storm drains, air conditioning condensate drains, water usage/conservation, water softener, reverse osmosis, and perform system

check on fire sprinkler system. May be required on occasion to lend support to other trades. Ability to answer guest questions regarding the facility. Maintains proper care of uniform, equipment and supplies.

Team Member must comply with all Federal, State and Local regulations and published Company work rules as well as written instructions. The noise level in the work environment is typically low to moderate in office setting and moderate to high during events and around loud machinery.

This is an onsite position that requires in-person collaboration with multiple departments and coverage of events from start to finish.
