Job summary

USDM Life Sciences is seeking a LabWare Developer to enhance our on-prem LabWare LIMS environment (v7/v8). This role blends development with system support, requiring independence and collaboration with QA, IT, and laboratory stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will design and configure LabWare, author IQ documentation, provide L2/L3 support, and help maintain instrument interfaces while supporting global expansion of the program. Strong communication is essential.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience developing and configuring LabWare LIMS (v7/v8).
  • Experience writing IQ documentation and supporting qualifications/validation.
  • Experience providing L2/L3 application support in a regulated or laboratory environment.
  • Familiarity with instrument interfacing within LabWare.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Experience supporting LabWare in life sciences, pharmaceutical, or GxP-regulated environment.
  • Experience supporting multi-site/global LIMS deployments.
  • Familiarity with on-premises system architecture and maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Support Thousand Oaks site and expand to global deployments.
  • Document changes and configurations per change control procedures.

Nature and Scope of Job

We are seeking a LabWare Developer to support and enhance our on-premises LabWare LIMS environment (versions 7 and 8). This role combines hands-on development with system support responsibilities. The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with QA, IT, and laboratory stakeholders.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, configure, and maintain LabWare LIMS functionality (versions 7 and 8) to meet business and laboratory requirements.
  • Author Installation Qualification (IQ) documentation and support related qualification/validation activities.
  • Provide Level 2 (L2) and Level 3 (L3) production support, including troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and issue resolution.
  • Perform ongoing system maintenance activities to ensure system stability, performance, and compliance.
  • Support and maintain instrument interfaces within LabWare (current environment includes one instrument interface).
  • Partner with laboratory and quality teams to gather requirements and translate them into LabWare configurations/customizations.
  • Support the on-premises LabWare environment, including coordination with infrastructure/IT teams as needed.
  • Currently support the Thousand Oaks site, with growing responsibility for supporting LabWare on a global scale as the program expands.
  • Document changes, configurations, and support activities in accordance with change control and quality procedures.

Qualifications
  • Proven experience developing and configuring LabWare LIMS (v7 and/or v8).

  • Experience providing L2/L3 application support in a regulated or laboratory environment.
  • Familiarity with instrument interfacing within LabWare.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Experience supporting LabWare in a life sciences, pharmaceutical, or GxP-regulated environment.
  • Experience supporting multi-site or global LIMS deployments.
  • Familiarity with on-premises system architecture and maintenance practices.
Education & Certifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or related field.
  • Master’s Degree preferred

Compensation

Salary/Hourly Rate Range (W2): USD 75.00 – 95.00

The base salary/hourly rate range represents the anticipated low and high end of the USDM’s compensation range for this position. Actual salaries/hourly rates will vary and will be based on various factors, such as the candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. The compensation described above is subject to change and could be higher or lower than the range described based on market survey data or budget.

Full-time employees are eligible for health, vision, and dental insurance, life insurance, short and long-term disability, hospital indemnity, accident, and critical care coverage.

Both full and part-time employees, who are at least 21 years of age, are eligible to participate in USDM's 401k plan. Full and part-time employees may be eligible for paid time off.
