Labs FSP Associate Scientist - Separations and Automation Technologies

Job Overview

Within our Analytical Services team, we support biopharmaceutical development through analytical testing. As an Associate Scientist, you will perform complex sample preparations and analyses, primarily using HPLC, CE, Hamilton Liquid Handlers, and affinity purification techniques. You will follow established procedures, review data, and report results, supporting quality analysis for bioprocess development under supervision.

Responsibilities
  1. Prepare samples with high pipetting accuracy.
  2. Operate liquid handling systems like Protein Maker and Hamilton for high-throughput processing.
  3. Conduct protein analytical assays such as Affinity Chromatography, SEC, CEX, CE-SDS, and icIEF.
  4. Document data clearly in electronic lab notebooks.
  5. Manage sample submission and data coordination with BioProcess Development teams.
  6. Support laboratory operations including shipping, ordering supplies, and instrument maintenance.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
  • 0-2 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and training.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of Hamilton Robotics and biopharmaceutical testing techniques.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Data interpretation and trend analysis skills.
  • Technical writing and troubleshooting skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Experience with LIMS or Empower is a plus.
Working Environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups.
  • Stand and lift objects up to 25 pounds as needed.
  • Work in healthcare or laboratory settings, possibly with hazardous materials.
  • Perform under pressure with multiple priorities.
