Qualifications

  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures.
  • Familiarity with MS Office applications and basic data entry.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine sample preparation tasks under close supervision.

Position Summary

Laboratory Technician I is an entry-level role responsible for performing routine laboratory tasks and assisting with sample preparation under direct supervision. This position supports the laboratory team in delivering timely and accurate data by following established procedures and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine sample preparation tasks (e.g., filtering, drying, weighing) under close supervision.
  • Operate basic laboratory instruments (e.g., balances, pH meters, ovens) in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Assist in maintaining laboratory cleanliness, organization, and safety.
  • Manage proper handling, storage, and disposal of laboratory materials and waste.
  • Record observations and data accurately in provided logs or data sheets.
  • Support other laboratory staff as needed with daily operational duties.
  • Report equipment malfunctions, safety concerns, or deviations from protocols to supervisors promptly.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in a science-related field preferred.

  • Basic understanding of laboratory safety, chemical handling, and measurement techniques.

Working Conditions
  • Laboratory environment with exposure to chemicals, noise, and lab equipment.
  • Requires standing for extended periods, handling of materials up to 25 lbs, and use of PPE.
