Job Summary
The lab Technician is responsible for receiving, organizing, preparing, testing and reporting samples according to established laboratory procedures. The role plays a critical part in ensuring data integrity and turnaround time by maintaining sample traceability and supporting smooth analytical workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Working knowledge of lan instruments like ICP, ICPMS, MERCRY ANALYZER, GC, GCMS, HPLC, IC, etc.
- Familiar with instrument software like Mass Hunter, Chemstation, EZ chrome, Chromeleon, ICP Expert, etc.
- Maintain clean and organized prep stations, tools, and equipment.
- Follow established SOPs, quality assurance protocols, and safety procedures.
- Track and record sample prep steps in LIMS or batch sheets with attention to detail.
- Assist with inventory of prep supplies and notify leads of any shortages.
- Communicate any irregularities, sample condition issues, or equipment malfunctions promptly. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely.
- Comfortable working with a variety of sample types (e.g., soil, water, tissue, food, chemicals).
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation.
- Good communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree or relevant lab experience preferred.
- Prior experience in a laboratory or production environment is a plus.
Work Environment
- Fast-paced laboratory environment.
- May require use of PPE (lab coat, gloves, goggles, etc.).
- Exposure to chemical fumes, biological samples, or noisy equipment.
- May involve working shifts, weekends, or overtime depending on lab workload.
