Job summary

AB Mauri is seeking a Laboratory Technician to support daily operations in AB Biotek, on-site in the St. Louis area.

You will prepare media and buffers, maintain housekeeping, organize glassware, record data, and perform basic instrument checks and calibrations to keep an inspection-ready lab. Essential: Associate degree in biology, microbiology or chemistry; strong safety practices; ability to follow SOPs, maintain records, and lift up to 25 lb.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in biology, microbiology, chemistry, or related field.
• Good laboratory safety, housekeeping and GLP practices.
• Ability to prepare media and handle samples aseptically.
• Follow SOPs and maintain accurate records.
• Strong attention to detail and reliability.
• Able to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 25 lb.

The successful candidate will be able to maintain a regular on-site schedule and meet timelines without continuous supervision and without compromising work quality.Essential duties include:Prepare basic microbiology media and buffers following SOPsMaintain laboratory housekeeping and organization: laboratory clean-upOrganize consumables and glassware per instructionsMaintain records of laboratory suppliesEnsure timely waste handling in compliance with existing demand and safety proceduresPerform basic instrument checks and calibrations in line with SOPs and record data accurately.Essential:• Associate degree in biology, microbiology, chemistry, or a related scientific discipline• Basic understanding of laboratory safety, housekeeping and good laboratory practices• Ability to prepare laboratory media and handle samples aseptically• Ability to follow work instructions and SOPs, and maintain accurate records• Good organizational skills and strong attention to detail• Demonstrated reliability and punctuality• Ability to perform physical and manual tasks, including bending, stretching, lifting up to 25 lb, dishwashing, and routine cleaningDesirable:• Experience working in a laboratory, technical, manufacturing, or similar controlled environment• Experience performing basic instrument calibration• Experience preparing defined media formulations and operating basic microbiology lab equipment, including pH meters, balances and autoclaves• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and WordWednesday, Thursday and Friday availability are essential. Tuesdays are preferred.
