Job summary

TEKsystems in Kapolei, HI is hiring entry-level Cable Technicians to support telecom network expansion across Hawaii. This permanent, on-site role offers hands-on training installing and maintaining fiber and copper facilities, with pathways for career growth in telecommunications.

The position requires physical readiness for outdoor work, ability to lift 50-80 lbs, and a valid driver's license. Pay ranges from $39,520 to $47,840 per year plus comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of telecommunications products and services, including fiber optic and/or copper facilities.
• Familiarity with cable installation tools and equipment such as fiber optic splicers, cleavers, strippers, trenching equipment.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to pass drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Install and configure internet, television, and telephone cable systems.
• Place aerial and underground cable to customer locations.
• Install pedestals, handholes, vaults, and related infrastructure.
• Label and mark telecommunications facilities for identification and tracking.
• Assist with fiber optic splicing, repairs, and maintenance.
• Perform general construction labor, including trenching, plowing, and boring operations.
• Test and troubleshoot signals to ensure quality service delivery.
• Restore work sites and landscaping following project completion.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work vehicles.
• Complete required documentation and work records.
• Follow all safety standards, industry regulations, and company procedures.
• Provide excellent customer service and educate customers on installed services and equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $39520.00 - $47840.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
