Job Overview

The Underground Fiber laborer supports utility construction projects, requiring experience in a utility environment, technical skills to operate equipment like Mini Excavators, Drills, Hydro, and Bucket Trucks, and a strong commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

• Prioritize safety above all, ensuring safe work practices in all tasks.
• Perform manual labor such as digging, utility installation, material handling, and ground inspection under various weather conditions.
• Assist with 811 locate processes, problem-solving for utilities, and adhering to policies.
• Operate heavy equipment independently with guidance.
• Support site preparation, maintenance, cleanup, and safety documentation.
• Participate in ongoing training and certification efforts.

Physical and Travel Requirements

• Must be physically fit to perform demanding tasks and lift 50 lbs or more.
• Willing to travel extensively (up to 90%) and work long hours in all weather conditions.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Ability to read construction drawings and operate various equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Trade school education, 1-3 years underground fiber experience, and relevant certifications.
