What You’ll Do
  • You will be the ground hand for technicians, provide parts as needed, move bucket truck as directed by technician.
  • You will ensure that door-tagging and resident notification of our construction activities has been completed prior to starting each workday.
  • You will ensure daily inspection and maintenance of fleet vehicles and equipment is performed and documented. If appropriately licensed, drive company vehicles as needed to jobsite.
  • Perform more complex tasks with some independence, including equipment operation, record-keeping, and following clearly defined processes and procedures.
  • Resolve routine issues while escalating more complex problems.
What You’ll Need
  • You are at least 18 years old
  • You are authorized to work in the United States for this company
  • You have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • You have a valid standard Driver's License with a minimum of 2 years driving experience or Class A Commercial Driver's License
  • You have 1 or more years of skilled labor experience, in telecommunications.
  • You are able to lift/carry 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs as needed with or without assistance
  • You may be a certified pole climber or capable of demonstrating proficiency as a pole climber.
  • You may have knowledge of installation of aerial and underground cables and/or support members in conformance with all applicable codes, regulations, and customer specifications (NEC Electrical Code, System and/or City Specifications).
  • Proficient in basic operational tasks, data entry, record maintenance, and working under established procedures.
Education/Experience Requirements
  • 1 year of work-related experience pertaining to utility construction, telecommunications or laborer related work
  • Proven leadership experience to direct workflow and produce high quality results
  • Any combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates ability to perform the designated job duties and responsibilities of the position.
Reasoning Ability
  • Ability to make common sense understanding to carry out instructions that are provided in written, oral or drawing. Ability to deal with and understand problems involving different variables in many varied situations involving employees, customers and vendors.
Mathematical Skills
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts (measurements in terms of distance, proportions, percentages and area. Ability to apply concepts of basic mathematics.
Language Skills
  • Ability to read, understand and interpret documents such as safety rules and requirements, machine manuals of operation and process procedures. Ability to write information including reports. Ability to speak effectively to customers, coworkers, vendors and the public.
Other Requirements
  • Must be able to pass a background check and company drug screening.
  • Must be able to attend and pass all company required training as needed.
  • May be required to work over‑time; after hours; on weekends or be on‑call as work is needed to ensure work is completed.
  • May include working nights and holidays as needed.
  • May be required to travel in state or overnight as necessary to meet business and job requirements.
  • Regular and timely attendance is an essential function of this position.
Physical & Safety Requirements And The Working Environment
  • Duties outlined in this position will require the employee to stand, crouch, sit, bend, use hands and fingers to handle or feel as well as reaching with hands and arms to spaces both high and low. The employee will be standing, walking, climbing, balancing, crawling, crouching, lifting, holding or stooping while on shift.
  • The noise level in the work environment for this position is moderate.
  • Employees performing functions of this position are regularly exposed to outside weather conditions which can include but is not limited to: extreme heat and cold temperatures; inclement weather such as rain, snow, sleet and dust as well as adverse driving conditions including wet roads, icy roads, and fog.
  • Employees in this job classification may be exposed to dust, fumes or other airborne pathogens.
  • Employees may be exposed to toxic or corrosive chemicals as well as moving machinery parts and pieces.
  • Specific vision abilities required to perform this job include but are not limited to: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus potentially near and/or far as needed.

Employees performing functions of this position are a safety sensitive role and are expected to adhere to all safety protocols.

Pay Range

The Laborer Telecom Aerial II hourly wage range is $18.75 - $23.55 depending on experience.
