As a Laborer, Aerial Crew member, you will perform duties related to installing and repairing aerial telecommunications cables, ensuring the scope of work performed meets customer standards.
What you'll do...
- Participating in all phases of aerial construction, including loading, driving, delivery, digging, removal, and placement of various materials and equipment
- Hand digging using shovels and mechanical tools
- Installing and maintaining underground telecommunications cabling
- Climbing into and out of equipment such as trucks, backhoes, trenchers, etc.
- Operating or working around heavy equipment and machinery
- Working in congested or remote areas
- Maintaining visual and audible contact with team members and all moving or stationary objects for safe coordination
- Performing general construction work under supervision
- Flagging, property, or worksite restoration
- Maintaining safety protocols according to regulations and policies
- Performing other duties as assigned
Who we are looking for...
- You are at least 18 years old
- You are authorized to work in the United States
- You have a high school diploma or equivalent
- You possess a valid driver's license with at least 2 years of driving experience or a Class A Commercial Driver's License
- You have 0-1+ years of unskilled labor experience; telecommunications experience is a plus
- You can lift/carry 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs as needed
- You may be a certified pole climber or capable of demonstrating proficiency
- You have knowledge of installation standards for aerial and underground cables in compliance with all applicable codes and customer specifications
Preferred Qualifications:
- Class A Commercial Driver’s License
- 6 months of experience in utility construction
- Ability to read prints and interpret utility maps
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work at least 8 hours per day, 5 days a week, with possible overtime, after hours, weekends, or on-call duties
- Ability to perform physical activities such as standing, crouching, sitting, bending, reaching, climbing, balancing, crawling, lifting, and stooping
- Wearing safety boots, glasses, and a hardhat
- Working in adverse weather conditions, including extreme temperatures and inclement weather
- Potential exposure to dust, fumes, or airborne pathogens
- Ability to lift/carry 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs as needed
