At Star Construction, as a Laborer on our Telecom Aerial team, you’ll perform duties related to installing and repairing aerial telecommunications cables, ensuring work is within customer standards.

What you’ll do as a Laborer

• Assist technicians as a ground hand, provide parts, and operate bucket trucks as directed.
• Complete door-tagging and resident notifications before work begins.
• Inspect and maintain fleet vehicles and equipment daily; drive company vehicles as needed.
• Operate construction equipment and maintain work areas.
• Communicate effectively with team members.
• Complete daily production reports.
• Assist with site restoration.
• Perform work in all weather conditions.
• Other duties as assigned.

What you’ll need

• Be at least 18 years old.
• Authorization to work in the US.
• Valid driver’s license with at least 2 years of driving experience or a Class A CDL.
• 1-2 years of aerial experience preferred.
• Experience in unskilled labor or telecommunications is a plus.
• Knowledge of aerial and underground cable installation, conforming to codes and customer specs.
• Ability to demonstrate proficiency as a pole climber or be certified as such.

Physical abilities & exposures

• Routinely: Stand, crouch, sit, bend, handle tools, reach, climb, balance, crawl, lift, and stoop.
• Occasionally: Work outdoors in extreme heat or cold, rain, snow, sleet, dust, and adverse driving conditions.

Salary Range: $15.00-$18.00/hr (based on experience)
