At Star Construction, as a Laborer on our Telecom Aerial team, you'll perform duties related to installing and repairing aerial telecommunications cables and ensure the scope of work performed meets customer standards.

What you'll do as a Laborer

• Assist technicians as a ground hand, providing parts and moving bucket trucks as directed
• Complete resident notifications and door-tagging before work begins
• Perform daily inspection and maintenance of fleet vehicles and equipment, documenting all activities
• Operate construction equipment and maintain work areas
• Communicate clearly with team members
• Complete daily production reports
• Assist with site restoration
• Perform work in all weather conditions
• Other duties as assigned

What you'll need

• Be at least 18 years old
• Authorization to work in the U.S.
• Valid driver's license with at least 2 years of driving experience or a Class A CDL
• 1-2 years of aerial installation experience preferred
• Unskilled labor experience in telecommunications is a plus
• Knowledge of aerial and underground cable installation per codes and customer specifications
• Ability to demonstrate proficiency as a pole climber or be certified as one

Physical abilities & exposures

• Routinely: Standing, crouching, sitting, bending, using hands, reaching, climbing, balancing, crawling, lifting, and stooping in various weather conditions
• Occasionally: Exposure to extreme weather, rain, snow, sleet, dust, and adverse driving conditions

Salary Range: $15.00-$18.00/hr (based on experience)
