At Star Construction, as a Laborer on our Telecom Aerial team, you’ll perform duties related to installing and repairing aerial telecommunications cables and ensuring the scope of work performed meets the required standards.

What you’ll do as a Laborer

• Assist technicians as a ground hand, provide parts, and operate bucket trucks under technician direction
• Complete door-tagging and resident notification prior to work each day
• Perform daily inspection and maintenance of fleet vehicles and equipment, and drive as needed
• Operate construction equipment and maintain work areas
• Communicate clearly with team members
• Complete daily production reports
• Assist with site restoration
• Work in all weather conditions
• Perform other duties as assigned

What you’ll need

• Be at least 18 years old
• Authorization to work in the US
• Valid driver’s license with at least 2 years of driving experience or a Class A CDL
• 1-2 years of aerial installation experience preferred
• Experience in unskilled labor or telecommunications is a plus
• Knowledge of aerial and underground cable installation in compliance with codes and standards
• Ability to demonstrate proficiency as a pole climber or be certified as such

Physical abilities & exposures

• Routinely: Stand, crouch, sit, bend, handle objects, reach, climb, balance, crawl, lift, and stoop
• Occasionally: Work outdoors in extreme weather, rain, snow, sleet, dust, and adverse driving conditions

Salary Range: $14.00-$16.00/hr (based on experience)
