Job summary

Lehman-Roberts Company, part of Granite, seeks a construction laborer to support asphalt production and site work in the Memphis area. You will measure, align, and assist with formwork, mixing concrete, and basic hand tools while following exact directions and safety rules.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent and are able to lift heavy weights, climb ladders, and work long hours outdoors.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Measures distances from grade stakes and drives stakes.
• Bolts, aligns, and blocks under forms.
• Signals equipment operators for alignment.
• Levels earth to grade specifications.
• Mixes concrete with portable mixer.
• Finishes freshly poured cement.
• Positions, aligns, and seals pipe sections.
• Erects scaffolding, shoring, and braces.
• Performs dexterous tasks with hand tools.

General Summary

Performs any combination of following tasks, such as erecting, repairing, and wrecking ; installing waterworks, locks and dams; grading

Essential Job Accountabilities

• Measures distances from grade stakes, drives stakes, and stretches tight line.
• Bolts, nails, alines, and blocks up under forms.
• Signals operators of construction equipment to facilitate alinement, movement, and adjustment of machinery to conform to grade specifications.
• Levels earth to fine grade specifications, using pick and shovel.
• Mixes, concrete, using portable mixer.
• Smooths and finishes freshly poured cement or concrete, using float, trowel, or screed.
• Positions. joins, alines, and seals pipe sections.
• Erects scaffolding, shoring, and braces.
• Performs variety of tasks involving dextrous use of hands and tools, such as sawing lumber, dismantling forms, and removing projects from concrete.

Education
