Job summary

Lehman-Roberts Company, a Granite Company with a long-standing presence in the region, seeks a construction laborer to perform tasks such as erecting, repairing, and finishing concrete, grading, and site preparation in West Tennessee and North Mississippi. You will measure distances, stake grade, mix concrete, operate basic tools, climb scaffolding, and uphold safety standards.

A High School Diploma or GED is required; prior experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent years of experience.
• Appropriate training and experience required.
• Follow directions and perform varied duties with accuracy.
• Physically capable to stand, lift 50–100 pounds, climb ladders and crawl.
• Commitment to safety and quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Measure distances, set stakes, and align forms.
• Level earth to grade specifications.
• Mix and place concrete; finish surfaces.
• Erect scaffolding, shoring, and braces.
• Follow safety standards and maintain a drug-free workplace.

General Summary

Performs any combination of following tasks, such as erecting, repairing, and wrecking ; installing waterworks, locks and dams; grading

Essential Job Accountabilities

Measures distances from grade stakes, drives stakes, and stretches tight line.Bolts, nails, alines, and blocks up under forms.Signals operators of construction equipment to facilitate alinement, movement, and adjustment of machinery to conform to grade specifications.Levels earth to fine grade specifications, using pick and shovel.Mixes, concrete, using portable mixer.Smooths and finishes freshly poured cement or concrete, using float, trowel, or screed.Positions. joins, alines, and seals pipe sections.Erects scaffolding, shoring, and braces.Performs variety of tasks involving dextrous use of hands and tools, such as sawing lumber, dismantling forms, and removing projects from concrete.
