Job summary

Lehman-Roberts Company, a Granite Company, seeks on-site laborers to support asphalt and construction projects across the Memphis/Mid-South area. You will perform essential tasks with safety and accuracy, following directions and adapting to changing duties.

This on-site role involves lifting, basic tool handling, and supporting high-quality builds on active sites. A high school diploma or equivalent is expected, along with reliable work habits and the ability to stand for long periods.

Qualifications

• Must work accurately and follow procedures while completing tasks.
• Ability to repeat tasks of short duration according to a set procedure and evaluate information using measurable standards.

Responsibilities

• Measures distances, sets stakes, and assists with alignment.

• Signals equipment operators to align and move machinery.
• Levels earth to grade using basic hand tools.
• Mixes concrete and finishes poured surfaces to specification.

General Summary

Performs any combination of following tasks, such as erecting, repairing, and wrecking ; installing waterworks, locks and dams; grading

Essential Job Accountabilities

• Measures distances from grade stakes, drives stakes, and stretches tight line.
• Bolts, nails, alines, and blocks up under forms.
• Signals operators of construction equipment to facilitate alinement, movement, and adjustment of machinery to conform to grade specifications.
• Levels earth to fine grade specifications, using pick and shovel.
• Mixes, concrete, using portable mixer.
• Smooths and finishes freshly poured cement or concrete, using float, trowel, or screed.
• Positions. joins, alines, and seals pipe sections.
• Erects scaffolding, shoring, and braces.
• Performs variety of tasks involving dextrous use of hands and tools, such as sawing lumber, dismantling forms, and removing projects from concrete.

Education

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent years of experience

Work Experience

• Appropriate training and experience required

Physically, workers must be able to:

• Climb up and down ladders, scaffolds, and other objects and carry tools and equipment
• Stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl, and see (naturally or with correction).
