Job summary

Navylifema is seeking personnel for the Community Recreation Division within the MWR Department to perform tasks ranging from grounds maintenance to warehouse and rental operations. The role involves heavy labor, use of hand and power tools, and operating various vehicles and large equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of power equipment including posthole diggers, blowers, weed eaters, power washers, and mowers.
• Safely operate equipment around buildings, obstacles, and uneven terrain.
• Manage controls to maneuver equipment and lift/lower components as needed.
• Use hand tools such as shovels, rakes, hammers, ladders and pallet jacks as part of tasks.
• Follow detailed processes and sequences to complete multiple tasks.
• Read simple drawings or instructions to perform tasks requiring manual skill.

Job description

This position is assigned to the Community Recreation Division; Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Department; Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC). The purpose of this position is to perform duties commonly found in a variety of work situations and incidental to many different occupations in MWR, such as grounds maintenance, warehouses, facilities, and rental operations. This involves heavy labor, the use of hand and power tools, operating motor vehicles, towed, and large equipment. Resumes must include information which demonstrates experience and knowledge, skills, and ability (KSAs) as they relate to this position. • Knowledge of safe and efficient operating techniques of various large equipment and power tools: (Operates a variety of power equipment to include, but not limited to: posthole diggers, blowers, weed eaters, power washers, mowers, box trucks with lift gate, etc.)
• Ability to operate and control riding mowers on slopes which requires constant attention to working space and environment.
• Ability to safely operate equipment around buildings, walls, trees, fence lines, banks and hillsides, trenches, curbs, rocks and other visible obstacles.
• Ability to operate various controls and levers to maneuver equipment and lift/lower, adjust, engage/disengage components or attached devices.
• Knowledge and skill using hand tools and other equipment such as: shovels, rakes, hammers, bars, saws, axes, loppers, wrenches, brushes, brooms, ladders, banding equipment, and pallet jacks.
• Ability to complete assignments involving several tasks by following detailed processes which require remembering directions, sequences, following simple drawings, etc.
• Ability to follow general instructions or read simple drawings to perform tasks requiring significant manual skill.
