Job summary

Peckham Industries is seeking a Laborer to assist in asphalt preparation, installation, and maintenance, collaborating with skilled workers and equipment operators to ensure safe, high-quality paving projects.

This cross-functional role focuses on paving while offering opportunities to gain experience in milling operations and to work across paving and milling crews based on needs.

Qualifications

• Ability to work flexible schedules including days, nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous paving or construction experience preferred but not required.
• Basic knowledge of construction tools and equipment.
• Demonstrated strong work ethic and commitment to safety.
• Ability to follow instructions, work collaboratively, and contribute to team success.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Protect family and friends by maintaining a zero-incident safety environment.
• Ensure job site readiness and material flow by clearing debris, marking work areas, and staging materials.
• Support paving operations by using hand and power tools and coordinating with equipment operators.
• Deliver quality surface preparation and installation by spreading, leveling, and compacting paving materials.
• Protect teammates and the public by following safety protocols and using PPE.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and job site standards through cleaning and routine maintenance.
• Contribute to on-time, high-quality project delivery by following directions and meeting deadlines.
