Job summary

Wood is seeking a construction laborer in the United States to interpret work orders, measure materials, and perform basic construction tasks using hand and power tools. You will follow safety rules, work with a craft person, and prepare sites for activities.

You must be comfortable working at heights, reading shop math, and using crane hand signals under supervision. Wood offers a stable role with opportunities to develop practical skills in a global engineering and project management

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Interpreting work orders and determining materials required.
• Using equipment and tools to perform basic construction tasks.
• Follow the rules of safe conduct at all times.
• Read and use standard and/or metric rulers for measurement.
• Demonstrate safe usage of power tools and hand tools for the job.
• Work with a craft person and assist as needed.
• Identify and select appropriate materials for specific crafts.
• Understand crane hand signals and follow instructions.
• Perform manual excavation as required.
• Ensure all safety equipment required by OSHA and client is used.
• Prepare and clean construction sites to minimize hazards and follow waste guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Follow the rules of safe conduct always
• Employee must be able touse standard and/or metric rule to measure
• Demonstrate ability to use whole numbers, fractions, and decimals to add, subtract, multiply and divide and be able to accurately follow instructions
• Identify, recognize and demonstrate safe usage of power tools and hand tools appropriate for the job
• Demonstrate ability to work with a craft person
• Identify, recognize and select appropriate materials related to specific crafts
• Identify, explain, and perform crane hand signals
• Demonstrate ability to assist craft person
• Demonstrate ability to perform manual excavation
• Work using all the safety equipment that OSHA requires as well as what is required by the client
• Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards, while following all waste handling guidelines
