Position Overview

ADB is a nationwide full turnkey provider of technology infrastructure solutions including Wireline, Wireless, Technology, P&I, and Engineering. We are seeking a Laborer II to support outside plant (OSP) installation on various utility construction projects. The ideal candidate has experience in utility construction, can operate equipment such as drills, mini excavators, hydro trucks, or bucket trucks safely, and is customer and quality-focused with a strong safety commitment and an ALL IN attitude.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Perform manual labor in all weather conditions, including hand digging, utility installation, material handling, ground inspection, and traffic control.
  • Support jobsite setup and closeout tasks, such as loading/unloading trucks, photo documentation, setting up cones and signs, and equipment prep.
  • Operate heavy equipment independently with limited guidance.
  • Meet production expectations set by supervisors.
  • Engage in training with experienced operators and foremen, learning installation and equipment operation.
  • Read and interpret construction prints and drawings.
  • Under supervision, locate utilities and understand the 811 locate process.
  • Maintain safety standards and participate actively in safety practices.
  • Train and support entry-level laborers to ensure compliance with safety and operational procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Work Environment

  • Use of safety gear such as glasses, gloves, hearing protection, hard hats, and steel-toed boots is required.
Experience and Education
  • At least 1 year of utility construction experience.
  • Minimum 6 months operating equipment like drills, hydro trucks, mini excavators, or bucket trucks.
  • Valid driver’s license; Class A CDL and certifications like OSHA 10 are preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

The starting pay is $24/hour, negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
