These crews handle underground utility work in residential and commercial zones, supporting their team to accomplish daily objectives.

Pay Rate:

$20.00 - $22.00

Essential Functions

Roles And Responsibilities

• Assist crew leader with construction, reconstruction, and maintenance tasks.
• Support equipment operators, perform swamping, hand digging, and locate underground obstructions.
• Operate specialized equipment like jackhammers, rotary drills, and power actuated fasteners.
• Signal equipment operators to assist in machinery alignment and movement.
• Work safely around heavy machinery such as backhoes, excavators, trenchers, and dump trucks.
• Prepare construction sites to eliminate hazards.
• Complete additional duties as assigned.

Success Factors

• Ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods, often in adverse weather conditions.
• Lift up to 80 lbs repeatedly during shifts.
• Ability to climb, dig, work in tight spaces, and navigate uneven surfaces.
• Follow oral and written instructions accurately.
• Work independently and as part of a team.
• Pass motor vehicle, criminal background checks, and adhere to drug-free policies.
• Communicate effectively in English for record-keeping and reporting.
• Willingness to learn new skills.

Experience And Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience with underground utilities is desirable.
• CDL A license is a plus.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.

Additional Requirements/Licenses/Certifications

• Valid driver’s license within two weeks of employment or ability to obtain one.
• Pass criminal, MVR background checks, and pre-employment drug screening.
