Job description

These crews are responsible for working in residential and commercial areas on underground utilities, collaborating with their team to complete daily tasks.

Pay Rate: $20.00 - $22.00

Essential Functions:

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Assist the crew leader in construction, reconstruction, and maintenance work.
• Support equipment operators, perform swamping, hand digging, and locate underground obstructions.
• Operate specialized equipment such as jackhammers, rotary drills, and power actuated fasteners.
• Signal equipment operators to assist with machinery and material handling.
• Work safely around backhoes, excavators, trenchers, and dump trucks.
• Prepare construction sites to eliminate hazards.

Success Factors:

• Perform heavy manual labor for extended periods, often in adverse weather.
• Lift up to 80 lbs multiple times during shifts.
• Climb, dig, work in tight spaces, on uneven surfaces, and perform physical activities like walking, stooping, and kneeling.
• Follow oral and written instructions accurately.
• Work independently and as part of a team.
• Pass motor vehicle, criminal background checks, and comply with drug policies.
• Communicate effectively in English for record-keeping and reporting.
• Willing to learn additional skills.

Experience and Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience with underground utilities is desirable.
• CDL A license is a plus.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.

Additional Requirements/Licenses/Certifications:

• Valid State Driver’s License or ability to obtain one within two weeks.
• Pass criminal and MVR background checks and a pre-employment drug screen.
