Job summary

Primoris Services Corp. is seeking a Solar Installer to join our field teams and work at industrial construction sites or fabrication shops.

The role focuses on assembling solar panels, mounting modules, wiring, and performance testing to meet client specifications. The candidate should have 1–4 years of solar installation experience, a high school diploma or GED, and rigorous safety compliance including PPE and pre-employment screening.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation.
• Must not pose a direct threat to health or safety in the workplace.
• Site safety requirements as required by the client (e.g., PPE).
• Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, etc.).
• 1–4 years of Solar Installer experience (civil, mechanical, electrical).

Responsibilities

• Assemble solar panels at the job site.
• Install solar modules, panels, and support structures according to PSC and client standards.
• Configure the wiring and inspect electrical parts.
• Install and connect batteries or other accessories.
• Perform routine system maintenance on modules, arrays, batteries, PCS, safety systems, structures, water sealing, or balance of systems equipment.
• Measure, cut, and assemble the support structure for solar panels.
• Test operating voltages to ensure operation within limits for inverters and controllers.

Functional Requirements:

• Assemble solar panels at the job site.
• Install solar modules, panels, and support structures in accordance with PSC and client standards.
• Configure the wiring and inspect all electrical parts.
• Install and connect any batteries or other accessories.
• Perform routine system maintenance on modules, arrays, batteries, power conditioning equipment, safety systems, structural systems, water sealing, or balance of systems equipment.
• Measure, cut, and assemble the support structure for solar panels.
• Test operating voltages to ensure operation within acceptable limits for power conditioning equipment, such as inverters and controllers.

Qualification Standards:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation.
• Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of such individual or others in the workplace.
• Job site safety requirements as required by the client (clean shaven, long sleeves, steel toe boots, etc.).
• Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.).
• 1 – 4 years of Solar Installer (civil, mechanical, electrical) Experience

Physical Requirements:

• Must comply with company’s drug and alcohol abuse policy.
• Must be able to pass physical examination, pre-employment if necessary, and as required by the company.
• Able to climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding, stairways, etc.
• Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or work at elevated heights as well as in confined spaces (towers, vessels, excavations, etc.).
• Able to carry 50 lbs. of tool and/or materials. It is recommended to get assistance to lift items over 50 lbs. Check with your project supervisor or project safety director.
• Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time.
• Must be able to work extended hours on your feet on uneven surfaces (dirt, concrete, asphalt, mud, gravel, etc.)
• Location: industrial construction sites and/or fabrication shop
