Job summary

18 Primoris Renewable Energy seeks skilled helpers at an industrial construction site in New York. You will follow safety rules, read construction drawings, and assist with electrical installations and testing.

You will mentor helpers and ensure quality work per project specs while managing tools and materials. The role requires 1–4 years of experience in the field, pre-employment screening, and adherence to client safety requirements.

Qualifications

  • 1–4 years of experience in the specified skill (depending on mechanic level).
  • Post‑offer drug/alcohol screening and physical evaluation.
  • New Hire Orientation Quiz.
  • Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of such individual or others in the workplace.
  • Job site safety requirements as required by the client (clean shaven, long sleeves, steel‑toe boots, etc.).
  • Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.).

Job description

Job Overview
  • Practice safety rules.
  • Follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Use hand and power tools safely.
  • Report to and assist immediate supervisor.
  • Perform quality work as determined by project specifications.
  • Accountable for all tools and materials at the end of your shift.
  • Must work well as part of a team.
  • Able to perform terminations up to 1500V AC and DC.
  • Able to read construction drawings and understand construction specifications.
  • Have a basic understanding of electrical systems.
  • Able to install underground cabling and conduits.
  • Able to run basic electrical test equipment.
  • Able to work with, train and mentor helpers.
  • Must comply with the company’s drug and alcohol abuse policy.
  • Must be able to pass a physical examination, pre‑employment screening if necessary, and as required by the company.
  • Able to climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding, stairways, etc.
  • Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or work at elevated heights as well as in confined spaces (towers, vessels, excavations, etc.).
  • Able to carry 50 lbs. of tool and/or materials; may require assistance for items over 50 lbs. Refer to your project supervisor or project safety director.
  • Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to work extended hours on uneven surfaces (dirt, concrete, asphalt, mud, gravel).
  • Must be clean shaven and able to work while wearing a respirator and other personal protective equipment when required.

Physical Requirements & Work Conditions

Must be able to climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding, and stairways.
Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and work at heights or in confined spaces (e.g., towers, vessels, excavations).
Lift and carry up to 50 lbs. (use assistance for heavier loads).
Stand or walk for extended periods on uneven surfaces (dirt, concrete, asphalt, mud, gravel).
Must be able to wear a respirator and other PPE when required.

Work Location: Industrial construction site. Mobility barriers, uneven ground, obstructed pathways. Work at low/high elevations, confined workspaces. Predominantly outdoor work with exposure to extreme heat or cold, humidity, rain, other weather conditions, loud noise from tools and machinery, and potential chemical exposure.
