Position Summary: Construct, erect, install, and repair structures and fixtures using wood, metal studs, plywood, and wallboard. Use carpenters' hand tools and power tools. Assist with various tasks on the job site, such as lifting, carrying, sorting, loading, unloading materials, and cleaning work areas. Promote a positive work environment to maintain a qualified workforce. Operate under supervision and perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Measure and mark cutting lines on materials using rulers, pencils, chalk, markers, and marking gauges.
2. Follow safety rules and regulations to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
3. Verify the trueness of structures using a plumb bob and level.
4. Shape and cut materials to specified measurements using hand tools, machines, power tools, and saws.
5. Study blueprints, sketches, or building plans to prepare project layouts and determine required dimensions and materials.
6. Assemble and fasten materials to create frameworks, shafts, props, drill holes, or frame box outs for plumbing and HVAC installations, using hand tools, power tools, screws, nails, and fastening devices.
7. Remove damaged or defective parts and repair or replace them.
8. Install fire stopping systems in wall and floor penetrations.
9. Perform minor plumbing, welding, concrete form work, mixing, placement, and finishing.
10. Repair and finish surfaces such as woodwork, drywall, cabinets, and wall coverings, including filling cracks, sanding, patching, and painting.
11. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Minimum 1-year prior construction or plumbing experience.
• Stable work history.
• Ability to use basic tools (hammer, tape measure, etc.).
• Honest, reliable, dependable, and good character.

Education:

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.

Physical Requirements:

• Correctable eyesight to 20/50.
• Ability to stand for long hours.
• Lift items weighing up to 80 lbs.
• Must not be afraid of heights.

Special Requirements:

• Must provide basic hand tools.
