Job summary

West Valley CSD seeks a versatile maintenance aide to perform a wide variety of routine manual tasks across different settings. Under supervision, you will load and unload materials, perform heavy cleaning, shovel snow, plow/salt sidewalks, cut brush, paint, and help with building repairs.

You will assist the Senior Maintenance Mechanic and other staff, with a focus on safety, efficiency, and reliability in outdoor year-round work.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of common maintenance practices, tools, terminology, and safety.
• Ability to follow oral and written directions.
• Ability to work safely and efficiently.
• Physical condition to perform essential duties.

Responsibilities

• Loads/unloads materials onto/from pallets, carts or trucks.
• Performs heavy cleaning (washing walls/windows).
• Acts as helper to Senior Maintenance Mechanic.
• Shovels snow from sidewalks, stairs, and passages.
• Plows, salts and sands sidewalks and parking lots.
• Cuts brush and grass with hand tools or mower.
• Painting tasks as needed.
• Repairs and improvements to buildings and facilities.
• Assists cleaners and other staff as needed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

The position is involved with the performance of a wide variety of routine manual

Duties are performed under direct or general supervision depending on the
nature of the tasks to be completed.

Additional Duties:

• Loads and unloads materials, parts, or products onto or from pallets, carts, or trucks.
• Performs a variety of heavy cleaning work, such as washing walls and windows.
• Acts as a helper to Senior Maintenance Mechanic.
• Shovels snow from sidewalks, stairs, and other passages.
• Plow, salt and sand sidewalks, parking lots.
