Job summary

Mortenson Construction is seeking a Laborer Apprentice II to learn the trade while assisting with material preparation, handling and supply to other crafts. The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and hands-on practice in a construction environment.

Responsibilities include loading equipment, inventory management, minor repairs, asset tracking, and site cleanup, with emphasis on collaboration across diverse teams. Visa sponsorship is not offered; role is on-site with physically demanding duties.

• Experience in construction preferred
• Ability to use tools and equipment (power and hand) such as vibrators, pumps, drills, jackhammers, forklifts, skid loaders, and power buggies
• Strong teamwork orientation with professional customer service skills and effective communication

SUMMARY

Mortenson is currently seeking a Laborer Apprentice II that will be responsible for learning the trade while assisting with preparation, handling, and supplying of materials to be used by other crafts.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Load and unload equipment
• Inventory organization
• Minor mechanical service and repairs
• Asset tracking
• Order fulfillment and staging
• General cleanup and clearing of debris, including sweeping, cleaning, washing, and loading
• Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
• All other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• Enrolled in Apprentice Aptitude Program
• Experience in construction preferred
• Ability to work with tools and equipment, such as power and non-powered hand tools, vibrators, pumps, drills and jackhammers, forklifts, skid loaders, and power buggies
• Strong teamwork orientation; positive attitude and professional customer service skills; detail oriented; active listening skills and effective communication, including an openness to diverse input and feedback
• Repetitive hand, arm, leg movements
• *Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling: up to 50 lbs.
