Job summary

Mortenson Construction is seeking a Laborer I to support preparation, handling, and supplying materials for other crafts on site. You will load/unload equipment, erect scaffolding, level ground, tend mortar, move materials, and assist with cleaning and debris removal.

The role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and effective communication, with opportunities to work with diverse teams and learn from seasoned professionals.

Qualifications

• Two-year apprenticeship completed.
• Experience in construction preferred.
• Ability to operate power and non-powered hand tools and machinery.
• Strong teamwork, attitude and communication; open to feedback.
• Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload equipment.

Laborer I

SUMMARY

Mortenson is currently seeking a Laborer I that will be responsible for the preparation, handling, and supplying of materials to be used by other crafts.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Load and unload equipment
• Erect and dismantle scaffolding (5X7X16) and staging
• Level ground for scaffolding
• Tend mortar and grout
• Lift, unload, move, set, and shovel mortar and grout between wheelbarrows and buckets
• General cleanup and clearing of debris, including sweeping, cleaning, washing, and unloading or burning debris
• Place, push, pull, and shovel concrete
• Vibrate concrete
• Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
• All other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have completed a two (2) year apprenticeship
• Experience in construction preferred
• Ability to work with tools and equipment such as power and non-powered hand tools, vibrators, pumps, drills, and jackhammers; forklifts, skid loaders, and power buggies
• Strong teamwork orientation; positive attitude and professional customer service skills; detail orientation; active listening skills and effective communication, including an openness to diverse input and feedback
• Repetitive hand, arm, leg movements
• *Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling: up to 50 lbs.

for CA, CO, WA, MN only Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.
