Job summary

City of Chicopee’s Department of Public Works – Sanitation/Recycling Division is hiring a Laborer responsible for picking up and loading trash and recycling materials citywide into collection vehicles. The role supports daily operations in a municipal setting and requires safety compliance.

Candidates must have a MA Class D Driver’s License (must be obtained within 6 months of hire) and a high school diploma or equivalent. The position is full-time with standard weekday hours.

Qualifications

• Valid Massachusetts Class D Driver’s License required or must be obtained within six months of hire.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

Schedule : Mon-Fri 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM

SUMMARY

• Picks up trash/recycling products.

• Adheres to all state, federal, and local safety regulations as well as City of Chicopee Health and Safety policies.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Valid Massachusetts Class D Driver’s License. - Required
• City may consider applicants with said Massachusetts Class D Driver’s License but as a condition of hire, said license mustbe obtained within six (6) months of hire. - Required
• High School Diploma or Equivalent. – Preferred
• Or one to three (1-3) months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
