Job summary

A municipal parks department is looking for a Temporary Laborer to assist with maintenance tasks in recreation areas. Responsibilities include caring for athletic fields, lining fields, and performing general landscaping work. Applicants should have a High School Diploma or GED and some maintenance experience is preferred. This is a seasonal, part-time role at $15.00 per hour, with flexible scheduling and a comprehensive benefits package.

Overview

Temporary Laborer Department: DPW - Recreation - OPEE Summer Adventures. Employment Status: Chapter 7 Ordinance, Non-Exempt, Seasonal (Hours as Needed/Varies). Salary: $15.00/Hour. Schedule: Mon - Fri, 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM. Certifications/Licenses Required: High School Diploma or GED; or one to three (1-3) months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs miscellaneous skilled and unskilled manual duties in the maintenance and care of recreation areas, athletic fields, park and playground equipment.
• Lines playing fields. Plants trees, shrubs, and flowers. Replaces grass. Repair fences, water fountains, drainage systems, swings, slides, and other playground equipment. Paints and does other maintenance work.
• Performs other related unskilled labor duties such as cleaning debris and leaf removal. May also operate weed whacker. Tree Cutting And Removal.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; or one to three (1-3) months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. - Required
• Some experience in maintenance work involving turf maintenance and other skilled/unskilled job duties. - Required
• General knowledge of parks and recreation department operations. - Required
