Job summary

The Tepa Companies in Hot Springs, AR is seeking a Laborer to perform physical labor at building, highway, heavy construction, excavation, and demolition project sites. The Laborer may operate equipment and instruments and will help prepare sites by clearing debris and hazards.

We expect 2+ years in construction, experience with hand and power tools, and a commitment to safety. A valid driver's license and willingness to work overtime/weekends are required; comprehensive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of general construction experience
  • OSHA 10 preferred, not required
  • Some experience operating equipment and hand tools
  • Some experience with hoisting and rigging
  • Exposure to trench safety, excavation safety, and other applicable safety standards
  • Knowledge of safety practices and procedures on labor work
  • Ability to pass a drug screen and background check
  • Ability to work overtime and some weekends as required
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

  • Identifies and operates hand and power tools as needed, including air hammers, earth tampers, concrete mixers, small mechanical hoists, saws, power drills, and a variety of other equipment and instruments.
  • Cleans and prepares construction sites to eliminate hazards, including rubble and debris.
  • Controls passing traffic.
  • Signals Equipment Operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of equipment.
  • Assists with loading, transporting, unloading, and furnishing materials, tools, and supplies.
  • Restocks worksite supplies and materials as necessary.
  • Follows safe working procedures and stops unsafe practices.
  • Performs other physical labor and responsibilities, including digging ditches and trenches, backfilling excavations, sealing structural components, measuring and recording areas, unloading and identifying materials, pouring concrete, setting braces to support excavations, assisting Electricians.
