Job summary

PACK Power LLC is seeking a physically able worker to join our traveling crew on High Voltage and Medium Voltage projects across the United States. You will assist with installation tasks, operate basic equipment, and support safe, efficient site execution.

The role includes an hourly wage plus per diem, with duties ranging from material handling to equipment operation. Expect 1–10 month project stints and frequent site travel across multiple states.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with 6–12 months related construction experience.
  • Equipment Operator certifications as required per equipment being operated.
  • Valid Driver's License
  • CDL preferred

Responsibilities

  • Promote and comply with all Company and safety policies and procedures.
  • Assist crew with physical tasks as required (loading reels, fueling equipment, threading equipment).
  • Operate hand tools, lift up to 50 lbs, load materials, and assist in installing underground utilities.
  • Assist with threading equipment and placement of cables/conduit per project requirements.
  • Maintain clean and safe work locations and follow safety protocols.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of equipment functions and communicate issues to operators.
  • Coordinate machine actions with crew, providing signals as needed.
  • Turn valves to control outputs of compressors/pumps.
  • Perform routine maintenance and daily reports.
  • Other duties as assigned by Superintendent or Foreman.

Job description

Position Scope

Responsible for working alongside other craft workers in physical labor on jobsites and potentially operating various types of equipment while maintaining a clean, safe and efficient construction site and supporting the overall project.

Location & Travel:

This role offers nationwide opportunities based on project needs. In addition to your hourly pay, you’ll receive a daily per diem to assist with living expenses while on assignment.

You’ll get the opportunity to travel across the US, helping our team build nation-wide medium and/ or high voltage electrical construction projects. This is a traveling position (up to 100%), where you will be onsite at a project location. You have the potential to be placed on a project site located in any state throughout the US. You’ll spend 1-10 months on average per project.

High Voltage Division:

Our High Voltage Division delivers comprehensive engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) solutions for critical electrical infrastructure across the utility, renewable energy, and industrial markets. Our expertise includes substations, switchyards, and transmission line systems ranging from distribution and medium voltage to extra‑high voltage (EHV).

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Promote and comply with all Company and safety policies and procedures
  • Ability to work hands on with installation and assist crew members with physical tasks as required (i.e. loading reels, fueling equipment, threading equipment, etc).
  • Primarily focused on the physical aspects of installation process. Ensure capabilities extend to operating hand tools, lifting upwards of 50lbs, loading materials, hand compacting soil, and assisting in the installation of underground utilities.
  • Assist with the threading equipment, handling, and placement of cables and/or conduit per project requirements.
  • Clean and prepare work locations to eliminate potential hazards
  • Have knowledge of equipment functions, running, navigating, detects or assesses problems, mechanical aptitude, and driving.
  • Gather and manage materials, consumables, and waste product from jobsite onto trucks using various pieces of equipment.
  • Ability to hand excavate trenches and remove, fill, or compact native materials
  • Coordinate machine actions with other activities, positioning or moving loads, providing hand or audio signals to operators/crew members.
  • Must have the ability to communicate clearly, listen and understand information through spoken words and sentences to ensure full comprehension of job duties, safety regulations, and other situations that may require an immediate response.
  • Turn valves to control air and water output of compressors and pumps.
  • Perform maintenance duties such as cleaning, greasing and oiling machines, maintenance reports filled out daily.
  • All other duties as assigned by Superintendent or Foreman.
Education and Work Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) and six to twelve months of related experience in construction or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Equipment Operator certifications as required per equipment being operated.
  • Valid Drivers License
  • CDL Preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Take reasonable care of your own and others’ health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working towards safety principles.
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Add and subtract two-digit numbers and multiply and divide with 10's and 100's, ability to perform these operations using units, weight measurement and volume.
  • Ability to understand units of force, pressure and torque and apply appropriate tooling adjustments for each.
  • Common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.
  • Be able to work within precise standards of accuracy and follow set procedures and standards.
  • Working knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in structural fills, DOT, and other public and private entities.
  • Workers should be able to work within precise standards of accuracy; follow set procedures and standards, judge distances and slopes accurately; and make decisions based on verifiable standards.
