Job summary

Telecon in Washington invites applications for energetic Construction Laborers to join our Civil Team. This full-time position is based at our yard in Tacoma, WA, with $20.00–$25.00 per hour pay and weekly payroll.

Responsibilities include diagnosing cable faults, digging, operating tools, site prep, and safety compliance. Qualified candidates have valid driver's license, ability to lift 80 pounds, and are comfortable outdoors year-round; CDL is a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction or landscaping, buried utilities
• Able to work outdoors year-round in varying weather
• Willingness to work weekends and overtime when required
• Read, speak and write in English with good communication
• Safe manual handling of up to 80 pounds

Job description

Washington Telecon is looking for energetic Construction Laborers to join our growing Civil Team. This full‑time position is based at our yard in Tacoma, Washington.

Pay Range $20.00 - $25.00/Hour.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and locate cable faults and replace or repair telecommunications cables
• Hand dig holes and trenches
• Frequently use tools such as shovels
• Complete landscaping restoration work
• Aid with general site preparation and clean‑up as directed
• Safely load and unload vehicles with supplies and equipment as directed
• Run gas and power equipment (e.g., saws, drills, jackhammers)
• Assist with the removal of debris from work sites
• Assist with traffic control as directedAssess work environment for potential health and safety hazards
• Solve problems and perform well under pressure and time constraints
• Complete other duties as required

Qualifications

• Construction or landscaping industry experience – buried utilities
• Valid Driver’s License; a CDL is an asset
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions year‑long
• Availability to work weekends and overtime when required
• Proficient in internet and email usage, and able to learn new software quickly
• Good verbal command of the English language and strong communication skills
• Ability to safely lift 80 pounds
• Must read, speak, and write in English
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
• Well‑groomed and maintain a professional appearance and demeanor
• Prompt and consistent attendance, including arrival times for job assignments
• Willingness to complete an online criminal record check to the company’s satisfaction
